A few days back, a few of us GC bloggers were invited by Stylexstyle to celebrate the opening of a new store. Some of you may have already heard, MM6 is now located and available at Ion Orchard, #01-08.

Honestly, if you know me well, I don't know much about designer brands, neither do I own anything from high-end fashion labels. (Quite a shameful thing to say since I study Fashion. HAHA. But that's me!^^) I am more of a street-fashion kinda shopper, I am easily contented with TopShop, H&M etc. And I would definitely go crazy at online boutiques or even Tao Bao for that matter of fact!

I have came across this label before while I was working on a school project a few months back. So I was pretty familiar with it but I still did quite a bit of research before heading down for the event! HAHA. Here's just a little brief info on what I know ;)

Basically, MM6 is a diffusion line from designer brand Maison Martin Margiela. Which means that it's a brand that carries a secondary line of merchandises that retails at a lower price. It is also more wearable so people like you and me don't have to be like 6 feet tall models to look good in their apparels. The brand is known to have elements that are a little more eccentric such as oversize proportions and ground-breaking silhouettes. More on how the SS2014 fashion show went later ;)

Honestly, I always get a little worried on what to wear for events. Especially for fashion shows like this where lots of industry people are present at. Thank God I've been pretty into more classy, timeless and sophisticated apparels lately. They look good for anything because they're so versatile! So thank you PeppyThread for this dress!:)

The show for me was an eye-opener. It's only the second fashion show I've been to and it's nothing like the previous one I'd witness at Digital Fashion Week. That was solely based on TopShop, and I love TopShop so I was practically really engaged into it, thinking of which apparel to buy during my next visit etc. But this one was about a brand that I know almost nothing about. Without a doubt, it had a stronger fashion direction and was catered towards a much more niche market. Like I could see my school friends in the apparels but probably not myself, though I WAS IN LOVE WITH THE TRANSPARENT BOOTS.

The entire concept was brilliant though. MM6 SS2014 line is really fresh, youthful and energetic. It also has a lot of color blocking and sports elements.

The gorgeous pair of boots that I might just splurge on. hehehe.

We were also interviewed by Jade Seah for Stylexstyle TV. Speaking along side these gorgeous and sophisticated ladies was pretty nerve wrecking for me to be honest. HAHA. I wouldn't say that I was nervous but more of intimidated. The whole time I was trying my best not to mumble or say something out of context and embarrass myself.

It was a reminder to myself that I am no longer just a kid. I am turning into a woman and I have to uphold myself well. It was such an honor to be speaking next to Annabel Tan whom I've always looked up to. She's such a smart and charismatic lady. Can't wait for the video to be out, hopefully all goes well. hehehe

Once again, thank you Stylexstyle for a wonderful evening! I've made some new friends from this entire journey too!^^ Can't wait for the spread we've worked on to be out.

The cuts and rips are a lot bigger and bolder, and lately I've been into apparels that are a little more unique. I love how casual this piece is but stands out a lot at the same time. A great statement piece that I think is totally worth investing in since denim never goes out of trend ;)

I love how their model wears it. So effortlessly chic!

Catalina Jacquard Dress

I wore this dress yesterday for GCWeekend and I am in love with it. Not only does it have a really flattering fit, the way the sleeves fall down the shoulders are not only super sexy but really comfy as well. You know how tight some off-shoulder pieces might be, but this one is exceptionally comfortable. It's an awesome party dress and definitely one of my favorites so far.

The great thing about SUPERGURL is that you don't have to wait too long for a new collection to launch. Which means, new clothes for every special occasion. Have your wardrobe fix by visiting them every Tuesday at 8PM!

I hope that dresses like these will never go out of trend! It's just too pretty! I simply adore this piece because not only is it ultra comfortable but simply stunning to look at on it's own.
